Feels Like Home :: Melbourne Birth Photography

Last week I was privileged to witness new life.

Although booked months, months, months ago, I only met the N & V on the big day.
Complications of pregnancy had made a maternity session and pre-meet difficult, and eventually, a c-section was booked in.
I hadn't been sleeping well for weeks in case I missed the BIG CALL, and I was forever waking to check my phone beside my bed, and now, even with a dedicated ( exciting! ) time and date ( exciting! ) booked .. I still got no rest ( what if I slept through my alarm! )

And that's just me, the wee photog .. can you imagine the excitement across town?
So it came to be that I make the trip into town on a dark early morning to document a journey of love.

I've had a little trouble these last few days uploading the beautiful video I made for this little family, so I hope to share this with Baby J's family & friends soon.

In the meantime I hope these images convey some of the love and emotion of the day.

Baby J was born at 8.31am to his two delighted mamas.
A beautiful gift.

Enjoy guys, you make a beautiful family.
I loved hearing of your dreams for the future, and the story of your being.

If you knew how much this moment means to me
And how long I've waited for your touch
If you knew how happy you are making me
I've never thought I'd love anyone so much
Feels like home to me Feels like home to me
Feels like I'm all the way back where I come from
Feels like home to me Feels like home to me
Feels like I'm all the way back where I belong*
