3 Cheeky Monkeys: Bentleigh

It's been a while since I blogged.  And a family to boot!

I really loved this session for it's simplicity.  Basically a mini, we had a timeslot of 30 minutes on the only afternoon
it could possibly be done before the little one was losing her front teeth to a childhood accident=infection=dental extraction
the following day. 

Believe it or not, we found the only pretty light on a dull cold day, down the local primary school while my own kids
played soccer nearby.  Nothing ideal, nothing precious.

Just a quick change of clothes "behind the shelter sheds" and a wipe of whatever was for afternoon tea at the
local daycare centre and/or afterschool care.

Troopers.  Brilliant.
That's how you do it!

Wrapped Around Her Finger :: Melbourne Child Photographer

I photographed this little cutie's big brother at the same age a couple of years ago and so when #2 arrived on the scene,
Mum contacted me to come pay another visit.

It was lovely to visit their new home and see images i'd taken up on the wall :)





We started our session with a little sidewalk catwalk...

Eye on The Prize :: Melbourne Child Photographer

Just cleaning up some files and discovered an image that makes me smile from an
early morning session late last year:






I love the sulky face of the boy. 

I'd just arrived and he had no interest in having his photo taken - he just wanted to watch
NickJr and eat his Cheerios.

and a boy's best friend knows patience has it's own reward...

This session actually began as a gift certificate for a newborn baby gift .. ..

Are you a mother? 

It's hard work. 

I know when my last baby was sleeping, I wasn't about to prod him into cute little positions .. oh no .. I might WAKE.HIM!  .. I totally get it.





And besides, they're so cute at this age .. so full of the world and confident of their own adorableness and capabilities.

I knew this family would be fun when I met them at my local Swim School.. our world-wisened little ones working the i-pad apps like Pros while they waited for their older siblings...

This was compounded when I received back the pre-session questionaire, describing their family as "Low key and dysfunctional"

Ha ha . perfect.. just like mine then.

Across the Universe

The first of one of my many holiday sessions, this beautiful family got together the night before Nanna was due to fly back to Ireland.





Not that you can tell, but the boys were a little sad to have to say goodbye and were out-of-sorts all day. When I arrived, I thought I might have my work cut out for me, but they rallied wonderfully and shone like the stars they are.




What a great family, i''m so glad to have met them.







Sounds of laughter, shades of life
Are ringing through my opened ears
Inciting and inviting me.

And Baby Makes Five.. { Melbourne Family Photographer }

It wasn't that long ago I was invited to photograph baby #2 it seems, and it's always lovely to be invited back .. this time for some updated family pics to celebrate a new family member ..





I love the shot above where poor Dad is doing up shoelaces and the kids are using him as a track for their cars to drive on... so reminds me of my place .. just a vessel .. to be used at the will of children ... heh ...



They live in a fabulous part of town with the most awesome "boardwalk". Last time I visited we did indoor images, but this time I said "we just *have* to use your "front yard" .. isn't it fabulous? I could so live here..



Thanks for having me over again N family .. and your lovely lovely boys...
Ah, brothers, so sweet .. with two of my own, I do have a soft spot for all their funny grossness .. they make me laugh :)

Looking back at this long-awaited session, I can't help but smile.

You could tell this lovely family knew how to have fun together.
And they had a bit of sass too ... a bit of 'tude if you will..
